MORPHOLOGY AND CORROSION RESISTANCE OF MECHANICALLY PLATED COATINGS

Abstract
Three kinds of mechanically plated coatings,which were made up of 325 mesh spherical zinc powders or 800 mesh spherical zinc powders or 325 mesh grain zinc powders and grain aluminum powders (10wt%),were formed with flaky compound powders respectively with the help of the precipitant.The morphology of the metal material powders and mechanically plated coatings were examined by SEM.The corrosion resistance of the mechanically plated coatings was evaluated by the salt spray test.The comprehensive properties of the mechanically plated coatings formed with zinc-aluminum flaky compound powders were better than those formed with 800 mesh spheric zinc powders.In addition,with the decrease of grain size,addition of aluminum powers and flaky treatment,the brightness,density and corrosion resistance of the mechanically plated coatings were enhanced.
