Influence of Substrate Tensile Deformation on Performance of FBE Coating

    • Natural disasters such as earthquake and landslide are likely to form deformation of buried steel pipelines. The adhesion, cathodic stripping and impact strength of fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) coatings on buried steel pipelines under different substrate tensile deformation conditions were studied. The results showed that with the increase of substrate deformation, the adhesion and cathodic stripping performance of FBE coatings decreased obviously. The effect of substrate deformation on the impact strength was not obvious when the substrate tensile deformation was less than 10%.
