Electrochemical Behavior of Silver Nanoparticles Self-assembled Films on Carbon Steel Surface

    • Ag nanoparticles were prepared by electrolyzing silver nitrate solution. Attempts were made to assemble the Ag nanoparticles on the surface of 20# carbon steel using different cross-linking agents such as acryl-thiourea(ATU), thiourea (TU) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and polarization curves were used to detect the corrosion inhibition of Ag-assembled films for the carbon steel in 0.5 mol·L-1 NaCl solution. The results showed that the Ag-assembled films with different cross-linking agents all had corrosion inhibition and the corrosion inhibition reached 94.8%, being the best when using ATU with Ag assembling for three hours.
