Abstract
An occluded corrosion cell (OCC) was used to study the adsorption behavior and the effects of organic anions(C12H23OO-)on underscale occluded cell of N80 steel in NaCl solution by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and polarization curve measurements.C12H23OO- migrated into OCC to combine with Fe by complexation reaction,an adsorbed monolayer film of the inhibitor was formed on the surface of N80,the cathodic process of corrosion reaction was suppressed. The adsorption behavior of C12H23OO- obeyed Flory-Huggins isotherm model. The adsorbed film changed the structure of the electric double layer. As the C12H23OO- migrated into OCC,the adsorbed film on the surface of N80 tended to become more compact and orderly so that the localized underscale corrosion was inhibited.
