    Stress Analysis of Flash Vessel with Refractory Brick Lining by Finite Element Method

    • The main reasons that causing refractory brick lining to be destroyed under high temperature and pressure environment were not chemical corrosions but thermal stresses.The inside diameter of the flash vessel was 4 meter,and design pressure and design temperature were 3.2 MPa and 230 ℃,respectively.The flash vessel with refractory brick lining was analyzed by finite element software ANSYS.Three load cases including pressure,temperature and assembled loads were considered,and stress calculating of the cylinder segment of flash vessel was carried out.The emphasis was placed on the radial and annular stress distributions of three layer brick and two glue mud,and the dangerous areas of refractory brick and glue mud were found.The potential consequences are discussed in detail.
