Degradation Behavior of Magnesium Alloy AZ31 with Phosphate Conversion Film in Artificial Plasma

    • A phosphate conversion film on magnesium alloy AZ31 was prepared by dipping method.Immersion experiments and electrochemical tests were employed to investigate the degradation and corrosion behavior of the phosphate conversion film in the artificial plasma medium. The surface morphology and composition were analyzed by EPMA (electron probe microanalyzer). The results showed that the corrosion rate of magnesium alloy AZ31 with phosphate conversion film reduced markedly in artificial plasma with smaller corrosion affected area and less corrosion degree.
