Abstract
The effect of Si content on the microstructure and mechanical properties of iron-base alloys and the characterization of corrosion resistance in various concentration H2SO4 were studied. The high silicon ferrite was the basis microstructure when the Si content in Fe-based alloys was increased to more than 9.92%.As the Si content increased, the impact toughness of Fe-based alloys decreased and the hardness increased. They were corrosion resistant to all concentrations of H2SO4 and the rate of corrosion no more than 0.12665g/(m2·h) when the Si content was 14.93%.The Fe-base alloys with any Si content were corrosion resistant to H2SO4 with a concentration up to 60% and the corrosion rate was less than 0.59954g/(m2·h).
