Development and Current Situations of Offshore Oil Steel Structures Coating Protection Technology

This article reviews the current situation of coating protection for offshore oil and gas facilities, based on the coating protection technigues of the offshore gas and oil production facilities used in Bohai Sea and China South Sea, including painting systems, metal coatings and fireproofing paints. The coating technology development trends of offshore oil steel structures are introduced, including combination protection between coating and cathodic protection, duplex component spray equipment, epoxy screen paints, water strippable paints, quickly dry and low temperature paints.
