Abstract
In order to study the corrosive mass loss behavior of X70 steel in soil contaminated by H2SO4, a series of indoor tests were conducted. The results showed that the soil density, water content and pH value decreased while the void ratio, containing gas rate and electrical resistivity increased with the increase of the content of H2SO4 in soils. The mass loss rate of X70 steel samples increased with the increase of the content of H2SO4 and the surfaces of samples became uneven from original smooth surface and covered with brownish red, maroon and black corrosion products, and the partial area of surface was fell off with circular or oval shape.
